My fourth week as a Summer Fellow with The Columbus Foundation has been great as we continue to gain momentum at The Westerville Fund.
This week, we were able to make significant strides in our social media presence as Meta finally became responsive and granted us access to our Facebook page. Afterward, I created posts on both our LinkedIn and Facebook pages and was able to drive more traffic to those platforms through my connections on LinkedIn. Additionally, I created a Linktree page that consolidates all of our social media in one place. This is useful for viewers who are looking to follow us on multiple platforms, viewers who are looking to make a donation to the fund, and for QR code creation that allows community members to access all of our information at a glance.
I’ve also been coordinating with members of the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM). WARM specializes in providing food, economic, and spiritual support to citizens in the Westerville community. As part of this coordination, we have scheduled a visit to their facilities, during which I will have the opportunity to explore the space, capture footage of the lasting impact that grants made by The Westerville Fund are making, and gather video testimonials highlighting the fund’s impact on key community nonprofits like WARM. These resources will be used to promote The Westerville Fund and its work through social media and press releases, while also spotlighting the important work that WARM does.
Lastly, I’ve been compiling responses to my new logo design ideas. Through this process, I am narrowing down our options and developing a final voting system that will allow us to select a new logo.
More to come,
Owen Ptak
